Holy shit that was so good！！！！！！That ending！ That plot twist！ The betrayal！ The audacity！ Why， Jacks， why？！ I didn't really liked the Caraval Trilogy （which I read for context） but I fancied Jacks， so I had to read this spin-off because it had much better ratings and it was worth the effort to get to this point because oh my god！ That ending was definitely on par with Holly Black's masterful TFOTA endings。 Very well done！ The dynamic between Evangeline and Jacks was very entertaining to read and Holy shit that was so good！！！！！！That ending！ That plot twist！ The betrayal！ The audacity！ Why， Jacks， why？！ I didn't really liked the Caraval Trilogy （which I read for context） but I fancied Jacks， so I had to read this spin-off because it had much better ratings and it was worth the effort to get to this point because oh my god！ That ending was definitely on par with Holly Black's masterful TFOTA endings。 Very well done！ The dynamic between Evangeline and Jacks was very entertaining to read and I'm excited to read the 2nd book now。 I love his grumpy ass lolBest scenes？ The one in the crypt， and the confrontation between the sisters which made me tear up a bit but then that bitch had to go and ruin it！ Gah！ I have some issues with the prose sometimes。 The author uses a lot of metaphors to describe things like smells and tastes in a way that sometimes doesn't make sense and it irks me， but that's a personal preference， I guess。5/5 I listened to this all in one sitting。 That's like 10 hours。 I just couldn't put it down。 （or turn it off， rather。） 。。。more

*WARNING* - this book contains the perfect villain。 Initially found myself face palming at MFC decisions at the start of the book which is why I couldn’t rate it 5 stars… THE NAIVETY AND BOTTOMLESS OPTIMISM。 It was frustrating。 Initially I did think the author was reaching for the characters motivation。 HAVING SAID THIS。 The moment the two MC’s we’re forced to work together *chef kiss* - I will be stretching my end of February finances to pick up the second instalment of this little series。

it took me a while to really get into this book， it wasn’t until about just under halfway through where i really started saying “i need to read more of my book today”。 but once i got through that hurdle， i was very much hooked on solving this fantasy mystery。 i am excited to keep reading this story of Evangeline and Jacks in never after。

love， love， love。 such a magical world。 i love jacks’s mysterious character。 what perhaps makes it lack 5 stars is the revelations and plot twists were not written in manner as dramatic as it could have been for that mind blowing quality of a 5 star read。 it prob would have been closer to 4。5 or 5 stars if i read caraval first。

Czasami zdarzają się historie， które zakochują czytelnika od pierwszego zdania。 Historie， w których sama zakochuję się tak szybko， że nie jestem w stanie przejść do normalnego funkcjonowania， póki ich nie skończę。 Są jak słodkie uzależnienie， hipnotyzują słowem， fabułą， zajmują miejsce w myślach i nie ma innego sposobu， by uciec spod ich uroku， jak tylko czym prędzej znaleźć się na ostatniej stronie。 Tak właśnie było w przypadku „Baśni o złamanym sercu” Stephanie Gerber。 Pochłonęłam ją praktyczn Czasami zdarzają się historie， które zakochują czytelnika od pierwszego zdania。 Historie， w których sama zakochuję się tak szybko， że nie jestem w stanie przejść do normalnego funkcjonowania， póki ich nie skończę。 Są jak słodkie uzależnienie， hipnotyzują słowem， fabułą， zajmują miejsce w myślach i nie ma innego sposobu， by uciec spod ich uroku， jak tylko czym prędzej znaleźć się na ostatniej stronie。 Tak właśnie było w przypadku „Baśni o złamanym sercu” Stephanie Gerber。 Pochłonęłam ją praktycznie w jeden dzień i przepadłam z kredensem。Trylogia Caravalu uwiodła mnie otaczającą ją magią， historia Donatelii i Scarlett skutecznie mnie oczarowała， ale nie ukrywam， że odkąd pojawiła się w drugim tomie postać Jacksa， strasznie mnie intrygował， dlatego do „Baśni o złamanym sercu” podeszłam z wielkim entuzjazmem。 I jak się cieszę， że się nie zawiodłam！Evangeline Fox można określić wieloma przymiotnikami， ale „naiwna” i „marzycielka” to zdecydowanie jej dwa największe atrybuty。 Domyślam się， że jest to postać， przy której można albo stale wywracać oczami i błagać bogów o łaskę， albo uwielbiać ją już od pierwszego zdania i właśnie tak było w moim przypadku。 Jest to bohaterka， która żyła tak głęboko zanurzona w baśniach i osobliwościach， że niczego bardziej nie pragnęła dla siebie， jak życia pełnego magii， prawdziwej miłości i szczęśliwych zakończeń。 Wtedy jednak poznaje Jacksa i zdaje sobie sprawę， że jej wymarzone „i żyli długo i szczęśliwie” nie jest tak łatwe do zdobycia， jak to bywa w jej ulubionych bajkach， a cena za próbę jego osiągnięcia może być zbyt wysoka。 Przede wszystkim musiała nieźle zastanowić się nad tym， czym w rzeczywistości jest ta upragniona „prawdziwa miłość”。W „Baśni o złamanym sercu” znalazłam wszystko to， co pokochałam w Caravalu， ale i dużo więcej。 Barwny styl Autorki trzymał mnie pod urokiem aż do ostatniej strony， coś w Księciu Serc sprawiało， że na moje usta stale wkradał się uśmiech， a fabuła obsadzona w bajkowej Północy， gdzie w każdej baśni kryje się więcej niż ziarno prawdy， po prostu mnie urzekł。To była magiczna przygoda i z niecierpliwością będę oczekiwała drugiego tomu！ 。。。more
